How the online timer works
Set hours, minutes and seconds, then press Start. The countdown shows in the page title (so you can see remaining time from any tab) and an alarm beeps when it reaches zero. On mobile, your device will also vibrate.
What is a countdown timer good for?
- Cooking: never burn the rice again.
- Focus: pomodoro sessions of 20-25 minutes.
- Workouts: intervals, AMRAP rounds, plank holds.
- Meetings: hard-cap discussions to stay on time.
- Power naps: 10-20 minutes is the sweet spot.
- Tea steeping: green 2 min, black 4-5 min.
Tips
- Bookmark the preset page you use most for one-click access.
- Add iAlarmClock to your home screen as a PWA for offline use.
- The countdown continues in the page title, so you can switch tabs without losing your place.
Timer FAQ
Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The remaining time is calculated from a fixed end timestamp, so even if the browser throttles the tab, the alarm fires correctly when time is up.
What's the maximum duration?
Up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds.
Does it beep loudly?
Volume matches your system. The beep is generated by the Web Audio API — no audio file to download.
Can I have multiple timers?
One per tab. Open the timer in multiple tabs to run several at once.
